I am a painter working in Watercolor and Acrylic. Making art is way for me to explore the things I see and manipulate them the way I want to see them. I love to play with color, transparency, and patterns. My abstracts are about movement and moods. Even though most of my work is based on nature and the human form I still think of them as abstract. I start with a drawing or several drawings from my sketchbook, I set up my composition and then I go to the canvas or paper and see what happens. As ideas come to me the overall piece may change. When I’m working I keep several things in mind. First of all, I’m always looking at the balance within the composition. Second, I repeat movements with my hand, wrist and arm, so that my “handwriting,” is on every piece. Third, I try to make every inch beautiful.
